RESERVE OFFICERS
The Socorro Police is currently accepting applications for RESERVE Peace Officer. Candidates must have a  Peace Officers License from TCLEOSE, No Felony or Misdemeanor arrests above Class B, meet current TCLEOSE licensing requirements, US Citizen or a Naturalized Citizen, Not have been convicted of ANY type of Family Violence at ANY time, and be of good moral character. If a Veteran, you must have an honorable discharge.  (other restrictions apply)

Reserve Officers are a vital component of the Socorro  Police Department. We recognize the service they provide to the community and appreciate their efforts. As the Reserve unit grows, reserve officers will have their own command structure with  Lieutenant, and Sergeant positions which also gives you the opportunity for leadership and administrative experience.

FULL-TIME OFFICERS

$2,000.00 Hire-on Bonus

 Full-time Regulars must have a at least a Basic Peace Officer Certificate (TCLEOSE), No Felony arrests or Misdemeanor arrests above Class B, meet current TCLEOSE licensing requirements, US Citizen or a Naturalized Citizen, Not have been convicted of ANY type of Family Violence at ANY time, and be of good moral character. If a Veteran, you must have an honorable discharge. POLICE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR (DISPATCHER)

      

 

Police Dispatchers work on a rotating schedule  to include nights, week-ends, and holidays.  Dispatchers must possess a TCLEOSE telecommunications license or obtain a license within 1- year of employment.  Must be bi-lingual (spanish/english).  Able to speak clearly over a radio and telephone.  (other restrictions apply)

 

All police department applicants must pass a comprehensive background investigation to include a pre-offer physical fitness test, written examination, medical and psychological tests, and drug testing.
